new?

i think i blogged when i was younger, but now i kinda have a reason for it. in october, i set up an etsy account, loverlea.etsy.com. i've made 12 sales so far through etsy and a few outside of etsy (class, craft shows). looking for a new form of exposure, i suppose :)

my main emphasis is making earrings. i love picking and choosing funky colors and combonations...that word doesn't look right. anywho, i taught myself how to make them a few years ago, but this past year i have been playing with some new techniques. i'm quite proud of them :)

i also make hemp jewelry, which seems to be a favorite of my customers. i've probably been making hemp jewelry since i was 10 years old..such a trendy child ;) i make necklaces and bracelets (and can custom make them for ya!)

i'm finally on winter break from marshall university, so hopefully that means i'll have more time to make things for my etsy! i've been kinda swamped with orders from my ma and for my boyfriend's family. but i don't mind that at all :D

i have this vintage book about making macrame purses, so maybe i'll muster up the motivation to learn to make them.

i have a severe addiction to the band phish. so any money i make from etsy basically goes either towards new supplies, school books, or phish shows. my boyfriend and i are going to miami, florida on the 30th to attend a phish show. we're ringing in the new year wif them ;) it's 15 hour drive though! even though it'll be totally worth it, it'll still take a toll on our bods and wallets. we think it's all part of the experience, though. i'm obviously exstatic about this trip, and selling any jewelry before then will surely add to this high.

otay, i guess this is my first blog post :) i'm happy with it.
